Discover the world of adaptive rowing - a sport is accessible to most people with disabilities. Learn about the many benefits of rowing, such as exercise, fitness, improving self-esteem, setting goals and the sense of accomplishment that comes from your hard work. Try an adaptive rowing machine for yourself at the show. Angela and other disabled rowers will be on hand to assist you. Hear about what Angela has achieved as a disabled athlete - she is the only person with a disability to have rowed across 2 oceans (Atlantic and Indian), a 2008 Paralympian (Beijing Games) and a World Rowing Record Holder. Freedom Concepts
Discover bikes that are available for people with disabilities such as Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy, Angelman's Syndrome, impaired vision, and more! Learn how cycling can provide recreation, therapy and most of all ... fun and freedom! The folks from Freedom Concepts will demonstrate some of their adaptive bicycles. Dancing is fast becoming a popular activity for wheelchair users. Auti Angel, founder of the Colous~N~Motion wheelchair Hip-Hop dance crew, will present a dance workshop directly after a dance demonstration by the crew. Then it's your turn to try some steps! Attendees of all ages and mobility levels are welcome to learn basic dance steps. Dancing crosses the boundaries of age, gender, and physical ability; it includes individuals using both manual and power wheelchairs. You won't want to miss this unique demonstration and a chance to dance on your wheels!

More than ever assistance dogs are meeting the needs of people with different disabilities. Meet several assistance dogs and their human partners. Watch them demonstrate the many ways they work together to achieve independence in various areas of their lives. Canine Companions Assistance Dog Demonstration
Canine Companions for Independence
Canine Companions for Independence provides assistance dogs to people with disabilities completely free of charge. Meet local human-canine teams to learn how they work together. CCI will share how Canine Companions assistance dogs are trained in up to 50 commands. They help people with limited mobility accomplish practical tasks like retrieving dropped objects, activating light switches and opening doors. Ballroom and Latin Wheelchair Dancing Demonstration

Learn wheelchair dancing from the first organization to offer classes in Southern CA! WheelChairDancers.org will present a demonstration of ballroom and Latin wheelchair dancing. Then it's your turn to learn some steps! Attendees of all ages and mobility levels are welcome tojoin us to learn the steps to dances like the Fox Trot, Salsa, or Cha-Cha, working with an able-bodied partner. Individual dancers are welcome! Wheelchair Dancing crosses the boundaries of age, gender, and physical ability and includes individuals using manual or power chairs with varying levels of ability. The Ms. Wheelchair California 2011 Pageant takes place at Abilities Expo LA! Hear the finalists as they compete in the finals of the competition. See Ms. Wheelchair California 2011 crowned! The pageant is designed to select the most accomplished and articulate woman to speak for Californians with disabilities. U.S. Power Soccer Association
Watch and learn as the best local teams demonstrate and train attendees on the techniques of power wheelchair soccer. Discover this very active and growing sport that is open to power wheelchair users of all ages. Local players will demonstrate how they combine their skills as wheelchair users with the speed and power of the chair itself, to participate in this extremely challenging game similar to soccer.
