Abilities Expo presents world-class special events that offer something for everyone. From sports demonstrations, to fashion shows, to Kid’s Day clowns and face-painting, we’ve created a menagerie of experiences that can only be found at Abilities Expo.

Show Floor Hours: 11:00 am – 4:00 pm

12:00 – 12:30 pm -- Dare to Change the World Fashion Showcase
The editors of Chloe Magazine will present a fashion show featuring models in the latest styles from USA Jeans, AgApparel, Legawear and others. The models will showcase beautiful and funky fashion trends on a wheelchair accessible runway built in the special events area. For additional information or to apply to be a model visit www.chloemagazine.com. This Fashion Show will be held each day at 12:00 and 2:00 pm.

12:30 – 1:00 pm – Colours in Motion Dance Team
The Colours in Motion dance team will perform and then teach the latest hip hop and dance moves to members of the audience. Stop by for great fun and entertainment. There will be a second performance on Saturday at 3:00 pm.

1:00 – 2:00 pm – Rancho Wheelchair Sports - Wheelchair Basketball Teams
Two basketball teams will play an exhibition basketball game during the Expo. Prior to the game Lisa Hilborn, the program director will conduct an Ability Awareness Seminar and explanation of basketball rules. Guests will have an opportunity to try out the special wheelchairs that athletes use and to learn more about how to get involved in this exciting sport.

2:00 – 2:30 pm -- Dare to Change the World Fashion Showcase

2:30 – 3:00 pm -- Aaron ” Wheelz” Fotheringham
Guinness inducted Aaron Fotheringham into the World Record Books in the Fall of 2008 for the 1st Wheelchair Back Flip. Stop by the special events area to see Aaron in action and watch this amazing feat. Aaron will also perform on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

3:00 – 4:00 pm -- Wheelchair Lacrosse
Ryan Baker will bring a team of athletes from San Diego to demonstrate this brand new wheelchair sport. Lacrosse is one of the fastest growing sports in the world and now is being played by athletes in wheelchairs. Come watch an exhibition and learn more information about this brand new sporting event. There will be a second demonstration on Saturday at 3:30 pm.

4:00 – 5:00 pm –- Networking Reception
We invite all therapists and professional healthcare attendees, corporate administrators, exhibitors, career fair employers and associations to join us for a relaxed, informal reception.

11:00 am - 12:00 pm Fencing Demo
Wheelchair Fencing Demonstration by Gerard Moreno, who in 2008, traveled to Beijing to take part in his third Paralympics Games, where he competed in the men's individual foil - category B and men's individual sabre - category B. Gerard will demonstrate the sport of fencing and answer questions from the audience. There will be a second demonstration on Sunday at 2:30 pm.

12:30 – 1:15 pm  -- Tennis Demonstration
Anthony Lara, a participant on the 2008 Beijing Paralympics Tennis Team, will conduct a tennis demonstration and workshop.  Wheelchair Tennis is one of the fastest growing wheelchair sports in the world, which follows the same rules as able-bodied tennis as endorsed by the ITF, with the only exception being that the wheelchair tennis player is allowed two bounces of the ball. There will be a second demonstration on Sunday at 1:00 pm

1:15 – 2:15 pm -- Power Soccer Demonstration
Watch and learn from the best as team members from the Santa Barbara Rollin Gauchos demonstrate and train the audience on the best techniques of power wheelchair soccer.

We have planned a terrific afternoon of fun activities for children of all ages. The line- up of talent includes a Face Painter and Clown, Juggler Gary Karp, Winner of Miss Wheelchair California, demonstration of all of the sporting events geared for kids and the chance to meet Aaron Fotheringham.

Chloe Magazine is looking for new faces, all ages, mainly fashion models for editorial and for other opportunities. Stop by the Fashion and the photographers of Chloe Magazine will take your photo for the chance to be featured in the November issue of the magazine. Chloe readers will vote for their favorite models online and then the final selections will be printed in the spring issue.
