FREE LOANER SCOOTERS
Provided compliments of Pride MobilityPride Mobility will be offering loaner scooters for visitors to Abilities Expo. Please go to the Loaner Scooters table and be prepared to provide appropriate identification to obtain your scooter. This is a complimentary service, offered on a first come, first served basis during show days and hours.
FREE WHEELCHAIR REPAIR
Provided compliments of Frog LegsFree maintenance will be provided on a first come, first served basis by Frog Legs. This service will end one hour before the show ends each day.
FREE CURBSIDE SHUTTLE SERVICE (from the Arlington Park Train Station):
Sponsored by SCR Medical Transportation
Complimentary shuttle service will be available for individuals with disabilities and one traveling companion and will run on a continuous loop to and from the Arlington Park Train Station and the Schaumburg Renaissance Convention Center. Each van comfortably holds one to two wheelchairs (depending upon the size of the chair) and approximately two to three ambulatory passengers. In order to accommodate as many people with disabilities as possible, we ask that you be so kind as to find alternate transportation if you do not have a disability. Vans will run one hour prior to the start of the Expo through 30 minutes after the end of the show each day. There will be two vans dedicated to this service each day of the event, but if the van is not at the train station when you arrive, please wait at the location indicated by onsite signage for its return.
FREE CURBSIDE SHUTTLE SERVICE (from the Renaissance Schaumburg):
Sponsored by the Renaissance Schaumburg HotelThe shuttle is available from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm and runs within a 2 mile radius. While it is available on a first come first severed basis, we recommend letting the reception desk know in advance. The shuttle will depart from the main entrance unless there is a specific need at the convention center. It can hold two powered chairs and has seating for 14 additional guests.
BRAILLE AND LARGE PRINT ACCOMMODATIONS
Braille and large print versions of the exhibitor list and the events/workshops schedule will be available by request at the registration counters.
FIRST AID
The First Aid Office is located on site and will be open during show hours.
FOOD SERVICE
The food service and seating area is at the back of the exhibit hall and will be open until one hour before closing on show days. We offer standard concession fare which includes sandwiches, salads, drinks, snacks, etc. The menu is subject to change.
INFORMATION/ LOST AND FOUND
Accessibility Help DeskFor your convenience, our Accessibility Help Desk, located in the Lobby in front of the Exhibit Hall, is where any show-related questions may be answered. Any lost items turned in to Show Management will be held here until the close of the show. All remaining items will be given to Building Security.
PERSONAL CARE SERVICE ATTENDANT
Accessibility Help Desk, Provided compliments of Abilities ExpoFor your convenience, there will be a Personal Care Service Attendant to assist guests during show hours for their personal needs (rest room assistance, filling out forms, etc.) Should you require assistance for show-related activities, please stop by the Accessibility Help Desk. This is a complimentary service and is offered on a first come, first served basis during show days and hours.
POWER CHAIR CHARGING STATION
When your power chair gets low on juice and requires charging, just roll over to the Power Chair Charging Station located outside of Discovery Hall and below the escalators. Electrical outlets are available there on a first come, first served basis for you to plug in and charge up.
PURCHASES
Please obtain a receipt for any purchases made on the premises of Abilities Expo. These should be shown to the guard as you depart the Exhibit Hall. If you do not have a receipt, you will be asked to return to the booth where the item was purchased to get one.
SERVICE DOG RELIEF AREA
Behind Booth 100, Provided compliments of Abilities ExpoFor your convenience and comfort of your animal, there will be a Service Dog Relief Area located on site. Water, a water bowl, plastic bags and a trash bin are also provided for your convenience and there’s even a red fire hydrant!! We appreciate you picking up after your animal.
SIGN LANGUAGE INTERPRETER
Accessibility Help Desk, Provided compliments of Abilities ExpoThere will be American Sign Language interpreters available to assist anyone requiring sign language translation at the Accessibility Help Desk in the Lobby in front of the Exhibit Hall. This is a complimentary service and is offered on a first come, first served basis during show days and hours.
