B.J. Davis: Comedian, Musician, Inspiration
Making you laugh, touching your heart, soothing your soul!
Saturday, October 16, 12:00 - 12:30 pm.
Think you’ve seen and heard it all? Don’t miss this hysterical performance by singer/songwriter/comedian B.J. Davis. In this comedy-show-meets-mini-concert, this born entertainer blends original songs and parodies with his unique, brutally honest and—above all—really funny outlook on life.
A one-man show who records all performance tracks in his own studio, Davis makes you forget that there’s no live band on stage. Give him a couple of songs, and you’ll even forget that he’s making you belly laugh from the comfort of his wheelchair.
Davis lives with rheumatoid arthritis and, while he acknowledges its challenges, he refuses to allow it to consume him. “Having a disability is what you make of it,” he says, “All of us are dealt challenges in life. How we respond to those challenges is what makes us who we are! I want folks to look at me as a guy who is playing the cards he was dealt to the fullest extent.”
Davis plays guitar, bass, drums and keyboards and actually made his debut as a country music artist. His popularity grew with each successive and more comedic album and he has received national radio airplay. His most recent work, Crooked Joints…Twisted Mind, treats listeners to many of his classic hits and several new releases.
“B.J. is awesome,” says a fan. “Funny man! Great voice! Terrific entertainer!”
With appearances all of over the South and Midwest, Davis’ ability to make people laugh while tugging on their heartstrings has helped to raise money and goods for a multitude of charities and non-profit organizations. He has also set up the B.J. Davis Foundation to help organizations and individuals who have “fallen through the cracks.” Davis’ non-profit has streamlined the red tape to reach out to as many worthy causes as possible who have not received the aid they need and deserve through normal channels.
“I am truly blessed to be able to use the gifts of music and comedy to hopefully enhance the lives of people I encounter,” says Davis.
If laughter is the best medicine, then B.J. Davis is the man with the cure! Come see him at Abilities Expo on Saturday, October 16, 12:00 - 12:30 pm.
